There has been a lot of activity in the boat park in the last week as tidal boats are being brought ashore for the winter.
The evening racing is over. The Optimist sailors had one last dash (it was a very slow dash !) up the lake and back last Friday evening before gathering for an end of season get together over some food after sailing. Last Sundays tidal sailing was blown off with winds gusting into the "I'm not going out there in that territory".

The day before - Saturday 26/9/26 - was a lovely sunny day with a light breeze in the morning, very light in the afternoon. Three groups were out on the lake. The Training Course for adults and the Introduction to Racing Group were followed by university sailors; all three groups were starting their various autumn sessions in ideal conditions.

Away from the club, Eve Bromilow and Tom Underwood were racing in the 420 GP5 at Itchenor SC along with Edie Rogers and Isobel Sandow with new partners from southern based clubs. There was a black tie dinner and disco on the Saturday evening for the sailors which everyone enjoyed.

Its easy to ease back from the intensity of summer sailing but there's still plenty of of good sailing in the autumn months for the dinghy and radio sailors and time available to catch up on the many maintenance jobs that have built up during the season.

The Mirror Class Thursday evening working group resume on Thursday next week (8/10/26) 17:30 - 19:00.
