News & Notices |
The Newsletter & Galley The Newsletter will be taking a break for four weeks and will start again on 3rd September. For any new information please check the website. The Galley will be closed on a Friday for the summer. The Galley will be open for the next 200 Club on Friday 29th August (Helen Brown will be catering). Members are welcome to bring their own food on a Friday, to eat in the Macdona Room, while the Galley is closed. Thursday Night Winter Talks We are planning for the winter already! The Thursday Talks we held last year were a great success. We have a few people signed up to do some fantastic and interesting new talks. If anyone has an interesting topic they would like to present we would love to hear from you.So far we have talks about Atlantic Convoys and Curiosities of the English Language. Steve Longmore, our very own Astrophysicist, by popular request is returning to share his knowledge on a new topic. Please email - house@wksc.org.uk if you have a great topic Lost Property Can people please check lost property and retrieve any of their belongings. Thank you. 2000 Fleet - Tidal Sail - Saturday 9th August The rough plan is to get out on the tide and sail across to Mostyn then down the Welsh channel to Flint Castle, then return again. We would have RIB cover and probably a pathfinder boat. The tidal sail will only happen if we have between 5-10 Knots of wind. Plan B is if the wind is a little higher than 10 Knots we will go for a sail on the lake instead. There will be fun and games planned on the water, some drill practice and maybe even a fun race! Anyway whatever happens well have a lovely time! Both options will involve a barbecue at the club upon our return (and cake) If you wish to join us for the sail and food then please send Claire a direct message on 07767830864 so I can gauge numbers. We just want it to be a fun sail without the pressure of a race. All are welcome. Claire and the 2000 fleet. |
