RYA Guidelines on Inclusive Language
West Kirby Sailing Club follows the RYA Guidelines on Inclusive Language including valuing everyones identity and ensuring that language reflects respect for everyones identity within the Club, this includes age, gender, background and experiences.
We kindly ask all members to be mindful of how we present ourselves—both as a club and as individuals.
Firstly, thank you to those who are helping to challenge inappropriate behaviour in the Club, making safeguarding a matter for everyone and a shared responsibility. Secondly, we want to be clear: any language or behaviour that makes members, staff, or visitors feel unwelcome will not be tolerated. Formal disciplinary action will be taken if conduct is found to violate Club or RYA guidelines.
Reporting Unacceptable Behaviour
If you witness or experience any language or behaviour that you believe is unacceptable or makes you or others feel unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. You can do this by:
· Speaking directly to a club officer.
· Sending a confidential email to safeguarding@wksc.org.uk
All reports will be treated seriously and confidentially, and appropriate action will be taken in line with club and RYA guidelines.
