A View from the Bridge |
The frenzied activity at the Club this last few weeks is coming to a crescendo as boats are looking fantastic, fitted, checked and cleaned, cookers installed, chairs moved, bars built (and stocked) and dance floors set out. The Wilson is upon us. It is amazing to see so many people getting involved doing so many tasks to make this a truly World Class event. The weather over the weekend is a tricky one to call. At the moment it looks little cooler around 15-16C, and the wind NNW 10-15kts, but that all depends on if the High Pressure over Northern Europe holds out. Fingers crossed it stays there and we can bask in the sun and 10kts for the weekend.... Whichever way it goes, come down and see what all the noise is about and see what your Club does best! If you get the chance, you can offer your services. The 'Johns' on the Beach Party still have a few spaces to fill - no previous knowledge required, on the job training freely given! I'll see you there! As our American guests say, 'Happy Wilson!' CG. Commodore. |

Sailing Matters |
Most of this week's Sailing Matters is on the website. Click Here to view You will need to login.
I've caught up with the outstanding story of the RYA Youth Nationals at Pwllheli which Sam Sandow has supplied. You can get the feel of the drama that unfolded when the 40 knot front came threw. It's character forming! I'm looking forward to the Wilson Trophy this coming week-end. A lot of hard work by 'Team West Kirby' goes into this internationally important team race. Just go and watch and report back in afterwards - You won't be disappointed. Anytime you see 'Tidal Sailing' in the Sailing Programme for a Saturday this season, check out what we / me have installed for you ! Once again - You wont be disappointed.... talk to those who took part in last Saturday's 'Tidal Timed Fun Sail'. Check your diary : WEST KIRBY SC REGATTA Saturday 28th June 2025 Enjoy your sailing, enjoy the Wilson. Tony Marston |
