WKSC EXTRAVAGANZA WEEK

Q & A

Q1 What's it all about? A1 We go sailing.  Q2 Where and when ? A2 On the estuary when the tides in and if the weather is agreeable or on the lake... in addition there's lake racing at 19:00 every evening for Fast, Novice and High PY subject to there being competitors and ROs.(check sailing programme in handbook). Q3 Will there be racing on the tide ? A3 Yes if we have volunteers to run racing and rescue boats. Q4 How will I know if and when there are going to be tidal races ? A4 When the Sailing Secretary has volunteers he will inform the various WhatsApp Groups. Q5 Will there be Adventure sailing for Junior Sailors ? A5 Yes subject to weather and volunteers (see below) Q6 What is Adventure Sailing for Juniors ? A6 A cruise to Sally's Cottage or Hilbre Island or Little Eye Q7 When does it start and for how many days ? A7 It starts on Monday and goes on each day up to and including Friday.

Adventure sail last Tuesday in Mirror 'Orion' to Little Eye (Harry & his Dad)

Harry conquers Little Eye

Monday 10/8/26 ... MONDAY, MONDAY (.... So good to me - The Mamas & Papas 1966) - before your time ? worth a listen though ... great music. The tide is very early (09:35 7.97 Mtrs) ... not too early if it's a beautiful day and you are on holiday but let's just admit than it won't suit most of us - SO what we'll do is to get together for morning coffeee to contemplate the freeform five days ahead of us, who will be happy to drive a rib, run a race, help the adventurous juniors etc. By the time we've sorted that out, arranged the collected data into something useful for WhatsApping out to the groups, the sun will be over the yard arm (That's right isn't Jean-Louis ?) and that might mean the bar is open (if we've got a bar person !). There should be enough of us still there to run some races in the adternoon on the lake or set some challenges for juniors and /or novice sailors also on the lake depending on conditions.

Q8 Is that all you've got to say Mr Sailing Secretary? A8 NO ... There are already Members who are RYA Senior Instructors who have made contact and are prepared to be involved with all of this. But they need helpers. It's looking good though Q9 Is there a race series and prizes A9 Yes of course. You will be able to accumulate points throughout the week for racing and volunteering. And what do points make? POINTS MAKE PRIZES !

Q10 Is that enough to be going on with ? A10 NO -  The Sailing Secretary would be grateful if you would email results@wksc.org.uk and state 'Xganza Week [Name(s), days joining in eg Mon, Tue etc or All 5]'     just so the club has an idea of numbers.

Q11 Will there be any sustenance available ? Q11 Might be possible - more info. over the week-end.

Q12 Can I make comments and ask questions A12  Yes - include them in your email to results@wksc.org.uk

I'm excited about the EXTRAVAGANZA WEEK. The weather forecast so for gives me hope. You lot - give me hope - I hope I give you HOPE.

Tony Marston

Sailing Secretary
