Published 09:00 on 22 Jan 2025

Welcome to WKSC Newsletter

A round up of Club news this week... including sailing, training and upcoming social events. Also included are links to the Galley on Friday menu and current boats for sale.                                                                                          ..

Belgian Waffle...

I had too good a time, firstly at the General Committee dinner held last Thursday at the Tapas Kitchen. The company was good, the food was good and the wine, oh the wine.. Then, onto the Commodore's reception which went onto the small hours. We had a small presentation for Sue Capper, who, after 33 years of loyal and dedicated services to the Club, retired at the end of last year. A collection and card for well wishers is behind the bar, and will remain available for anyone who wish to contribute until the AGM next week.

On Sunday, I opened one eye, then the other, slowly, and found a grey and fairly miserable day, with absolutely no wind, leaving me no alternative but to cancel the tidal championship. At the time of start, the lake was a mirror and no suitable alternative to the tide either. This will all change now with 50+ knots of wind predicted for the end of the week. Anyone with a boat in the yard, please ensure it is tied down and the cover well secured.

Let's pray that the weather gods will allow for decent racing on Sunday 26th. Just do not look at the forecast right now!!

Bonne semaine.

Le Waffleur.
