A View From The Bridge
125th Anniversary Ball A Night to Remember
Well, the Ball was a blast — possibly even verging on respectable. As tradition demands: good food, good bus ride, good company, and absolutely no photographic evidence of the dancing. We kicked off with drinks on the terrace, then piled onto the doubledecker like a school trip with better shoes. The Royal Liver Suites looked stunning, the balcony drinks flowed, the food was excellent, and the dance floor… well, lets just say it saw things.
One of the highlights of the night was revealing our new Vice Commodore, Nick Ledingham. Judging by the number of surprised faces, it seems this particular secret was actually kept… for once. Nick has run the Star Class with a famously steady hand, attracting teams like INEOS who've come to see how he's driven ownership up by nearly 100% in the last five years. Onwards and upwards, Nick — you'll be brilliant.
We were also delighted to announce that Kay Eggleton has agreed to step forward as our next President. Kay's warmth, wisdom, and long-standing commitment to the Club make her an outstanding choice.
As we approach the end of the year, we look ahead to Jonathan Atkinson stepping into the role of Commodore. He will need — and absolutely deserves — the same support that so many of you have given me and the Club over the past few years. If you have time, skills, or ideas to offer, please let Jonathan or any of the Team listed in the Club Book know. They'll help direct you to where you can make the biggest difference.
This Club runs on volunteers. Everything we achieve, we achieve together.

The Autumn Quiz Series starts on Wednesday 14th October at 2000hrs
As with previous series this will consist of 5 General Knowledge / Trivia rounds, a specialist round and a news round.
Each round has ten questions except the specialist one which varies week to week with Anagrams, Dingbats, Riddles and other brain teasers.
Once again Jenny Wilkinson is our host who puts in many hours to produce these challenging but fun evenings.
There are a hard core of quizzers but we would welcome any other members and friends interested in coming along either individually or as a team.
Finally to round out the evening we have a game of cards where, if your luck is in you have a opportunity to go home with up to a hundred pounds.
Come along, support your Club and have a pleasant couple of hours.
See you there!
